TRUCKADE, Under the Lights: an orange trophy truck, number 06, flies off a jump under a huge floodlight, rivals kicking up dust behind it

TRUCKADE: Under the Lights

  • Windows PC · Steam Deck
  • 1–4 players, local split-screen
  • 2027
Lap replay

On track.

The announce trailer is in the works. Until then, here’s a lap from the overhead camera: muted, in-engine, work in progress.

Race brief

Five reasons
to line up.

Inspired by the late-80s arcade stadium racers. Rebuilt in 3D, with floodlights, four players on one screen and a track builder.

  1. Players on one screen

One couch, four pads. Split the screen, or put everyone on one overhead view like an old arcade cabinet. In Knockout the camera keeps closing in, and the last truck left on screen scores.

  2. Races under the floodlights

Stadium towers, light bars and working headlights and brake lights on every truck. Dry Lake after dark is a different animal.

  3. Heavy trucks, full 3D

Long-travel Baja-style trucks with real weight. They shove, roll and fly over jumps, whoops and splashes, and the dirt and mud build up as you race. Five camera views, cockpit included.

  4. Your own stadium

Lay out a road, drop in kickers, tabletops, whoops and splashes, pick day or night, then race it against three CPU trucks. Every track gets a share code, so a friend can race it on their own copy.

  5. Time trials against your ghost

Your best lap races you back as a ghost truck. Chase green splits, set the record and put your three-letter driver code on that track's top 10.

15 tracks: 5 environments, each raced forward, reverse and mirror

Five places.
Every way round.

Desert, stadium, salt flat, canyon and swamp, each raced forward, reverse and mirror. Set a lap in Time Trial and your driver code goes on the tower.

Desert Run

Sandstone mesas, a water splash and plenty of air. Where everyone learns to drift.

FAQ

Pit talk.

When does it come out?

TRUCKADE is coming to Steam in 2027, for Windows PC and Steam Deck. Join the Frequency Club to play the demo and playtests first.

How much will it cost?

The price hasn't been announced yet. It'll be on the Steam page.

Can I play with friends on the couch?

Yes. 1–4 players share one screen in Quick Race, Knockout and the Playground: split-screen, or everyone on one overhead view. Races are four trucks, so CPU trucks take any empty seats. Two players can share a keyboard, and every menu works with a gamepad alone. The career cups, High Stakes, Time Trial and the track builder are one player.

What about online play?

Online play is being built now. Exactly what ships at launch will be confirmed in the devlog and the newsletter first.

Does it run on Steam Deck?

It's made with the Deck in mind: gamepad-first menus, a UI laid out for 1280×800 and a Performance graphics mode. Deck numbers go in the devlog once it's been measured on the hardware.

Who makes it?

One developer at Cyber Frequency Labs, on nights and weekends around a day job.
